Who is microblading not suitable for?

• People with active eczema, dermatitis, psoriasis, an open wound, infection, cold sore, active acne or significant irritation in the brow area
• People with a bleeding disorder, uncontrolled diabetes or seriously impaired wound healing
• People taking blood thinners: talk to your doctor before the treatment and never stop your medication on your own.
• Pregnancy: the treatment is usually postponed. Breastfeeding: talk to your healthcare provider first.
• People taking immunosuppressants or having chemotherapy: a doctor's assessment is required beforehand.
• People prone to keloids (raised scars that grow even after small wounds)
• Very oily skin with large pores, very thin or easily irritated skin, or noticeable scars or uneven texture in the brow area

Who is lip blushing not suitable for?

In the cases below the treatment is postponed or a doctor's assessment is needed first.

• An active cold sore, blisters, wounds or infection on the lips. Having had cold sores before is not a barrier on its own, but the treatment can trigger them, so people with recurring cold sores should talk to their doctor first.
• Active eczema, dermatitis, cracks, open wounds, marked irritation or unhealed lesions around the lips: the treatment waits until the skin has fully recovered.
• A known allergy to permanent makeup pigments or to the numbing products used, or a serious reaction after previous permanent makeup. A negative patch test does not rule out allergy completely.
• A bleeding disorder, uncontrolled diabetes, seriously impaired wound healing, or taking blood thinners. Never stop blood thinners without your doctor's advice.
• Chemotherapy or immunosuppressant medication: no treatment without your doctor's approval.
• Pregnancy: postponing until after pregnancy is the safest approach.
• Ongoing swelling, tenderness, hardness, pain or inflammation after lip filler. Having had filler is not a barrier on its own; how long to wait depends on the procedure and your recovery.
• Dark spots of unknown cause, wounds that will not close, unexplained swelling or lesions on the lips: see a dermatologist first.
